Paint Your Room With Moving Color

Most fairy lights are boring. They just sit there, staring at you with one flat color. If you buy red lights, you get red. If you buy blue, you get blue. Maybe they blink on and off if you are lucky. They are decoration, but they aren’t entertainment.

These Smart "Dream Color" Lights are alive. They don't just light up; they move. Because they use RGBIC technology, every single LED on the string can be a different color at the same time. You can have a rainbow chasing itself down the wire, a "snake" of light crawling around your Christmas tree, or explosions of color that react to every beat of your music. It turns a static room into a light show.

This is a high-tech string light available in 10m or 20m lengths. Unlike old-school lights that plug into a wall socket with a heavy brick, this runs off a standard USB connector (5V). You can plug it into your phone charger, your laptop, or even a portable power bank.

The secret sauce is the “Addressable” LED chip (WS2812B). In normal lights, the whole string has to be the same color. In this string, the computer chip inside knows exactly where every bulb is. This allows for complex “chasing” effects where colors run up and down the line. It is rated IP65 Waterproof, meaning the lights themselves are coated in protective silicone that handles rain and dust (just keep the USB plug dry).

Why Choose These Smart Lights?

  • True “Dream Color” Effects: Standard RGB lights can only show one color at a time (the whole string is red, then the whole string is green). These are RGBIC. You can have red, blue, green, and purple all displayed on the same wire at the exact same moment. It looks like a flowing river of light.

  • Syncs to the Beat: The built-in microphone listens to your room. Put on a playlist, and the lights will jump, flash, and flow in perfect time with the bass. It turns your living room into a nightclub without you having to do anything.

  • Portable Power: Because it is USB powered, you aren’t tied to a wall socket. Grab a power bank and take these camping. Wrap them around your tent, your bike, or your patio umbrella. As long as you have a USB port, you have light.

  • Total App Control: You get a remote control in the box, but the real power is in the app. Connect via Bluetooth and you can draw your own color patterns, set timers so they wake you up in the morning, or dim them down to 1% for a nightlight.

Where Can You Use It?

The Gaming Battlestation

Run these along the back of your desk or behind your monitor. The moving colors match the energy of your games and make your setup look professional on camera.

The “Smart” Christmas Tree

Forget boring static bulbs. Wrap this around your tree and set it to a “candy cane” chasing pattern (Red and White). It makes your tree look like it is animated.

Bedroom Ceilings

Line the corners of your ceiling. Because you can dim them, they create a perfect mood for watching movies in bed without the harsh glare of a main light.

Outdoor Camping

Since you don’t need a wall plug, take them on your next trip. A standard 10,000mAh power bank can run these lights for hours, making your campsite the coolest one in the park.

Turn Static Light Into Living Color

You don't need a DJ or a club to have a light show. These strings bring energy, mood, and movement to any space instantly. Whether it's a calm blue wave for sleep or a flashing rainbow for a party, you control the vibe. It is the cheapest way to make a boring room feel alive.

Select your length and make your lights dance.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Difference Between RGB and RGBIC?

RGB lights change the whole string to one color. RGBIC (this product) can show multiple colors on one string at the same time. It allows for rainbows and chasing effects that normal lights can’t do.

Does It Comes With a Wall Plug?

No, it comes with a USB connector. You can plug it into any standard USB phone charger, PC port, or TV USB slot.

Is the Remote Battery Included?

No, shipping rules usually stop us from sending batteries. You will need a standard CR2025 button battery for the handheld remote.

Can I Cut the String?

Technically, yes, but we don’t recommend it. If you cut it, the waterproofing is gone at the cut end, and the rest of the string might stop working if you cut the wrong spot. It is better to just hide the extra length.

Is It Waterproof?

The wire and lights are IP65 waterproof (rain is fine). The USB plug at the end is NOT waterproof. You must keep the connection point dry.

Durable upgrade for outdoor LED lights

4 years ago I installed 3 runs of individually addressable LED fairy lights (the wire kind) under my thatch in my braai area. I connected these to a DigQuad running WLED. Recently, one of my 10m strings started giving issues and I needed to find a replacement and stumbled upon LED Addict and this one specifically. But what I stumbled upon was a lot more than I had bargained for. The wires are plastic coated which essentially would reduce the risk of rust which I suspect was the cause of my one run giving issues - it is as if these were an evolution to the ones I was using. I ordered the 10m run.

As I didn't need the USB controller, I snipped that off, but before doing so, I opened the case which revealed the pinouts which was really convenient. Separating the 3 wires was a bit of a mission because they are packed together, but eventually split them up and exposed the bare wires. Armed with Wago connectors, I managed to connect the wires up and the lights were lit up although the colours were not correct. More about that later.

These were a lot easier to work with when stringing them up. I had to wind them around a cross-beam along the top of my thatch. The "wire" ones are a lot more delicate and I felt that I didn't need to worry about the wires snapping with these ones. It was such a pleasure to string these up.

In WLED, I had to change "Color Order" to BGR and the colours were 100%.

In life there are always compromises. I did find that the brightness went down towards the end of the 10m line and the reason is that the resistance of the LEDs or wiring - not sure really - was a bit more than the "wire" ones that I am using in my remaining 20m and 10m runs. It is advised to inject power from the other end if it is possible to do so. In my case, that was not possible, but I am satisfied with the result regardless. My current 20m run is power injected from both sides so when I replace that one day with these, and it is going to happen sooner than later, I'll have to continue to inject power from both sides.

But furthermore, I'm very happy with these. I think the run I had replaced with these is going to last due to the plastic coating of the wires and LEDs.
